The Use Of Different Assets (Ethical & Legal Issues)

The Use Of Stock Photos And Images

Stock photos and images are good and effective assets to use in assistance with your branding, especially when done correctly but a lot of individuals tend to put themselves in trouble with peers and the law for incorrectly using them. To not run into these issues you can 1) when taking your own pictures (regarding other individuals’ face and property) get a written agreement from the person if you intending on using the image whether it’s for a commercial or personal project. And if you do get permission please don’t use the image in a slanderous way. 2)don’t just use random images from the internet. Use Royalty free images as this is a much safer way for you to not run into legal issues, sometimes you may be prompted to give credit to the owner the image, just do so with a smile as more opportunities will arise from this route than hurt your reputation.

The Use of Typefaces

Yes, you can run into uses from illegally using typefaces. A lot of individual whose use typeface think because it’s on the internet means that it’s free. This is not the case most of the time, as there are creators who take deep pride in the art of making typefaces and decide to therefore, charge it for what it’s worth. To avoid legal issues you could 1) pay for the font, if you really need to use it, why not support the artist for his work while you get the honors of using it? 2) Search for typefaces that are free for personal and commercial use (depending on the usage). Take the ISA typeface,” Activitc,” for example. Activitic is a free font on the web for personal and commercial uses, meaning I can also use this font in paid projects. By doing so I avoid all legal issues by searching for a free font.
